Seven Weeks

Lindsey let me know that we are seven weeks from the wedding, as of last Saturday. She also told me that is the same amount of time passed since Valentine's day. This put things in perspective.

Marriage is just around the corner. I am excited and amazed that our 7 year relationship will be made "official" so soon. I am so glad and lucky.

Roxie (my dog) is still waiting to be asked to be the flower girl. She keeps asking, but I tell her to ask Lindsey.

One Year Ago Today!

One year ago today, Terry asked me to marry him! No, there is no significance to St. Patrick's Day, I get that question a lot.

Terry asked me to marry him by the lake in Kingston. When we first started to get to know each other, I was playing softball at the park and he was playing basketball with his friends. We talked every once in a while when we would see each other there, and then began talking some on the phone. Since that was the place where it all began, Terry decided that is where he would ask me. I obviously said yes!

Right after we got engaged, we headed to the Biltmore. I had never been before. It was a lot of fun and GORGEOUS. I have some pictures of Terry and I from that trip, but for some reason can not find them right now. We toured the Biltmore, and shopped around some. I went straight to the book store to buy the latest wedding magazine.

I was on spring break when we got engaged, and in my sorority we have a candlelight ceremony to reveal to the chapter who is engaged. I lived with 2 of my sorority sisters and had to keep a secret for 6 days. It was SO hard. At sorority meeting we all stood in a circle and sang "Going to the Chapel," and passed around a candle. If you are the one who is engaged, then you are supposed to blow out the candle. I was so nervous and both of my roommates (Becca and Julia) were right beside me. I blew out the candle and then they all found out. Julia got Terry and I a cookie cake to celebrate.

I can not believe it was a year ago! It has been a very fun, exciting year.

In Just Two Months

MAGNOLIA MANORIn two months Terry and I will be getting married! It is just coming so fast. Above is a picture of the location of the wedding and reception, Magnolia Manor. I can not wait, and hope we have beautiful weather. Since it is outside that does make me a little nervous, but I am trying to not worry about that yet.

For Christmas, my parents got me something so cute for the bottom of my wedding shoes. They are from Mindyweiss.com. I doubt anyone will even see them, but I am excited about putting them on my shoes!

I guess this can be my something blue!

Young Love <3

While I was on my dad's computer, I found a couple of older pictures of Terry and me. Terry and I began dating in high school, even though these pictures kind of look like middle school. Look at my really cool bangs. :) For some reason I wore them too long. It must have been humid outside because they were usually in one big curl....yuck haha. I also think I made the bracelet that Terry is wearing. It was very sweet of him to actually wear it. I could not resist putting these on here. Terry looks very young to me. I am sure I do too.

I am guessing this is the same year. These were probably taken in 2001 or 2002. I have a photo album of Terry and I throughout the years. It is really neat to look at pictures like this and then eventually get to the more recent pictures to see how much we have changed. We have in a way grown up a lot together. I will post more of our older pictures if I am able to get them on my computer.

My First Post

This is my first post. Lindsey has been hogging all the posting glory, but I have decided to steal a little bit of her thunder. Just a little bit though, because she deserves it. I have been talking to a few vendors in hopes of getting a thing or two squared away.

I admit it. My job has been pretty easy. I have done a few things on my own and helped Lindsey out when she needs assistance.

I will post again in the future I am sure.

P.S. Let us know if Roxie should be the flower girl. I promise she will only growl a little.

Wedding Date, Roxie & Lynn!

It is kind of hard trying to figure out what to blog about. I talked to Renee (Terry's sister.... my soon to be sister :) and realized that I have been talking about the wedding and never gave the date. Terry and I are getting married on May 16, 2009! 68 days away. Not that I am counting or anything.

My wedding dress came in recently and mom and I went to my first fitting tonight. My second one will be 4 weeks before the wedding. Here is a picture of my wedding dress... hahaha just kidding, I do not want Terry to see it yet, but here is a link to the bridesmaid dresses. I think they are so cute.

Speaking of Terry, I am going to have to make him post on here. He is pretty busy in the student law clinic at UT. Not much has happened with us since my last post. We did spend Sunday in Gatlinburg with Terry's Friends Chris, Grae and Grae's girlfriend Allison. We played putt putt, shopped, ate and then shopped some more. We had a lot of fun.

On Friday Terry's dog Roxie got her haircut. She is so sweet.

Roxie is crazy about Terry. Terry is insistent that Roxie be the flower girl at the wedding. I can just imagine how well that would work out. The dog Terry and I found back in high school is also crazy about Terry. Her name is Lynn. Her name is Lynn because of Terry Lynn and LINdsey. Remember I said we found her when we were in high school so maybe that helps make it not so embarrassing. Here is a picture of her and then one of her and Terry.

Details...Details...Details...

What kind of flowers will we have, where will we put them, how many do we need, where should we put the cake.....?? All of these questions and many more have been on my mind recently. My mom, dad and I went to the beautiful Magnolia Manor (the venue for the wedding and reception) tonight to go over some of the details of our wedding. It is crazy to me how fast the months have been passing. I feel like I said last week, "oh I have 10 months till the wedding," and now it is so close.

The most fun part of the planning is deciding on the decor and look of the event. It has all been fun, but this sure does beat signing all of the contracts. It does get overwhelming sometimes just trying to make sure I do not forget something, but when I think about how Terry and I will be married soon, the overwhelming part is worth it.

It is going to be really fun to see all of the DETAILS come together on the wedding day!
